A solid silver vase distinguished by its sculptural architecture and great purity of form. Here, Lino Sabattini draws inspiration from the monumental capitals of the ancient Persian city of Persepolis, translating their volumes with remarkable modernity.
The silhouette features a flared profile, widening gradually from a narrow base to a broad, rectangular opening. The slightly concave sides create an elegant tension that visually lightens the mass of the metal, lending the piece a sense of upward momentum.
The subtly upturned ends of the opening accentuate the composition's architectural character, while the side curves evoke the powerful forms of Achaemenid capitals.
