"charioteer" clock Empire period early 19th century

Large “au bige” clock in finely chased and gilded bronze. The chariot is driven by a helmeted charioteer leading two spirited horses. The dial, forming the wheel, is signed Vincent in Paris. The whole rests on a wide ormolu base adorned with a military trophy and four laurel wreaths ; the base is supported by four lion claws.
