Study of a horse, Italian School 17th century

Beautiful and powerful figure of a horse, on a sheet of octogonal shape. Unframed, it is mounted on an old passepartout.

Dimensions are 205 x 197 mm.

Pen, black ink, red and black chalk on laid paper, formerly adhered on the back to another paper for an old restoration.
Visible damages are: 2-3 cracks on the left border, 2 small losses on the top border and the cross-shaped scratch (looks like folding lines but it is not).
