Adèle Agnès Evrard (1792–1889) — Biography
Born in Ath, in what is now the province of Hainaut in Belgium, on October 5, 1792, and died in the same town on July 22, 1889, Adèle Agnès Evrard was a Belgian painter specializing in still-life painting.
She trained under her brother-in-law, the landscape painter Julien-Joseph Ducorron, and began exhibiting her works as early as 1819. She subsequently participated in numerous exhibitions and Salons in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, contributing to the recognition of still-life painting during the first half of the 19th century.
Her artistic repertoire is distinguished by floral compositions, arrangements of fruit, and depictions of game, subjects in which she developed a keen observation of natural forms and textures.
Her participation in the Salons of Ghent, Brussels, and Antwerp demonstrates her sustained artistic activity. In 1836, she was awarded a silver medal at the Brussels Salon for two floral compositions, Flowers and Basket of Roses, a distinction that highlights the recognition her work received during her career.
