Large Napoleon III period sofa in ebonized wood and cane. This sofa features elegant decoration with gilt ornamentation, painted tole cabochons, and beautiful mother-of-pearl inlays. The caning is in very good condition. The four legs terminate in castors.
A large cushion, two bolsters, and a small cushion enhance the appearance of the seat.
On the back of the sofa is a label reading “Guerrico et Williams, Carlos Pellegrini,” corresponding to a former collection or provenance history of works of art recorded by the National Gallery of Art.
