French Empire Neoclassical Walnut Console Table

A French Empire mahogany-veneered console table, circa 1810. The architecturally structured piece is surmounted by a conforming Carrara marble top. The frieze, incorporating an integrated drawer, is supported by freestanding columns to the front and corresponding pilasters to the rear, all resting on a concave plinth base. The front columns are fitted with finely chased bronze bases and capitals. The frieze and corners are adorned with gilt-bronze mounts in the form of Neoclassical Psyche mascarons.
