Art Deco - Art Nouveau - Ceramics and Slip
MAJOLICA – SARREGUEMINES, circa 1900
Important bulbous cachepot in polychrome glazed earthenware, of quadripodal form with handles, decorated with fluting and applied foliage. The handles are formed by faun heads, while the body rests on hoof-shaped feet. The whole is set on a quatrefoil base decorated with raised foliate motifs. Impressed mark beneath the base: “MAJOLICA SARREGUEMINES”.
