A six-panel folding screen painted on paper with sumi-e ink and gold powder, depicting an expansive lakeside landscape. The composition opens onto a broad, tranquil lake whose calm waters are punctuated by gently wooded hills fading into the mist. In the distance, waterfalls descend from the mountains toward the lake.
The right side of the composition is dominated by an elegant open pavilion overlooking the water, nestled among pine trees and rocky outcrops. Within the pavilion and in the surrounding landscape, small figures can be seen engaged in conversation and social gatherings, lending a refined narrative quality to the scene.
Signed in the lower right Genryo, with a red seal.
Period: Meiji, late 19th century
Dimensions: 185 × 376.5 cm
Condition: The folding screen is in good overall condition, with minor wear to the paper and small areas of restoration. The lacquered frame shows signs of wear.
