Sèvres Manufactory, 1767
Porcelain sugar bowl finely painted in polychrome with two distinct landscape scenes: one depicting a pastoral view with figures and distant architecture, the other a maritime harbor scene with sailing boats, quays, and fortified walls. These delicate compositions demonstrate the refined use of perspective and tonal blending characteristic of Sèvres landscape painting in the 18th century. The ground is decorated with interlaced ribbons and “œil-de-perdrix” motifs, and the lid is surmounted by a flower-shaped finial with gilt accents.
Marked underneath with the interlaced LL monogram and the date letter “O” for 1767.
Date: 18th century, 1767
