A fine hard-paste porcelain ewer and its matching oval basin, decorated in polychrome with trophies and garlands of flowers, bordered by a gilded frieze of scrolls and trellis motifs. The lid is fitted with a vermeil (gilt silver) mount.
The ewer bears in red the interlaced LL mark beneath a crown, with the date letter “AA” for 1778, and the painter’s mark of Chulot.
The basin is marked in blue with the interlaced LL and bears the gilder’s mark of Weydinger.
