Offered by Étienne de Roissart
Régence-style center table from the 19th century. It features an elegant rectangular top in black Portoro marble with beveled corners. Portoro marble is a high-quality Italian marble originating from the La Spezia region. The carved wooden structure is gilded with gold leaf. The apron is richly decorated with floral motifs set against a crosshatched background. The legs, shaped in graceful "S" curves, are finely carved with acanthus leaves, volutes, and shells, and terminate in hoof-like feet reminiscent of deer legs : a distinctive aesthetic signature of the Régence style.
