"Bretonne aux paniers", lost-wax bronze, with brown patina, representing a Breton woman from Bigouden carrying a basket in each hand.
On the back of a basket, the signature of Charles Maillard is intaglio followed by the date 1924.
On the back of the base, the founder's stamp is followed by the number 2.
Very good condition.

Born in Cholet (Maine et Loire) on June 29, 1876, Charles Maillard was a French sculptor and ceramist who studied at the Beaux-Arts in Angers before moving to Paris. From 1901, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received several medals and honorable mentions. He died on August 4, 1973.
