Mahogany music stand stamped AUBRY, Louis XVI period

The rectangular top features two openwork stands arranged face-to-face for a duet, and when fully unfolded, it comprises eight stands for an octet.

Each stand unfolds, adjusts, and folds back using a fine mahogany strip that fits into dedicated notches.

When fully deployed, the top reveals eight stands of varying widths: three pairs facing each other and one on each side section.

It rests on a slightly tapering shaft ending in a molded ring, followed by a turned baluster. The tripod base is finished with elegant “English-style” feet.

Stamped by Louis AUBRY, Master on August 31, 1774.

Louis XVI period

According to Kjellberg, Louis AUBRY had a particular fondness for mahogany in his work, which is always marked by great simplicity and excellent architectural design. His production includes light, refined pieces such as tables volantes and music stands.
