Born in 1819, he was a student of his brother Karl with whom he visited Egypt. At the Salon from 1839 to 1876, he won a 1st class medal in 1861.
Numerous works in Swiss museums and in Versailles.
Beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame of the 18th century.
