A violin-shaped wall sconce and its wall bracket, from the Louis XV period (1724–1774).
It features a floral design executed in martin varnish on a green background, embellished with rich gilded bronze ornamentation in the Rocaille style, consisting of acanthus leaves, small flowers, and shells.
The dial is adorned with a blue-and-white enameled porcelain cartouche that displays the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals.
Signed “Les Frères Lambert Robert à la Chaux-de-Fond” on the movement plate.
The case is stamped on the body and also bears the letters “GME” (Gérant des Maîtres Ebénistes).
