Marble sculpture depicting a young putto carrying a broken jug, signed by French sculptor Auguste Moreau. This model, known as L'Enfant à la cruche, is made in two varieties of marble: a white Carrara marble combined with a second marble with fine gray veins. The composition is distinguished by its elegant movement and the quality of its sculpture. The details of the face, hair and amphora bear witness to French decorative expertise of the late 19th century. Signed: Auguste Moreau.
