Daum Nancy - Art nouveau-era enameled vase featuring a heraldic lion

A rare enameled vase featuring an enamel decoration accented with gilding, depicting a heraldic lion against a background etched with geometric motifs. An Art Nouveau-era piece in perfect condition. A frieze of floral motifs around the neck and another at the base frame the design. Signed on the base “Daum Nancy” with the Cross of Lorraine. Work from around 1890, among the early creations of the Daum brothers.

A model with the same decoration in the shape of a pitcher is preserved at the École de Nancy Museum. (See last photo)
