Art Nouveau yellow and green gold photo locket pendant

Art Nouveau photo locket, inscribed "roses de France" and depicting two roses. The rose of France is a special symbol.

According to legend, this variety of rose only grew in Metz.
Following the annexation of the city by the Prussians, it became a patriotic symbol and is represented in Art Nouveau, notably in the collections of Emile Gallé, an artist working in Nancy.
