Two Grotesque musicians, France 17th century

Two stained glass roundels with grotesque musicians from the commedia dell’arte. Irresistibly hilarious. One tall guitar player with what seems to be a mask with oversized nose and glasses. The other a more dwarflike well nourished musician. Somewhat like an early 17th century version of Laurel and Hardy in a heavy metal band. The original drawings are by Jacques Callot (1592-1635). Grisaille and silver stain. Condition: one has a lead repaired crack and the other four restored cracks in the lower part (under the feet) of the glass.
Diameter: ca. 10,5cm
