        Chinese porcelain plate decorated in grisaille depicting “the departure of pilgrims for the island of Cythera” based on a 1708 engraving by Bernard Picard. Framed with flowers and foliage in “bianco sopra bianco” (fixed white) and a garland of gold fleurs-de-lis with marli. On the rim, stylized foliage and cornucopias in gold outlined in iron red. 
Qianlong period (1736-1795), circa 1750.
 Diameter 23 cm. 
Some wear to the grisaille.
