Pair of double bronze-mounted vases, Paris circa 1760

A rare pair of vases consisting of four small Chinese porcelain vases with polychrome decoration of tobacco leaves and a finely chiseled and mercury-gilded bronze mount.
The two "Meiping" vases are surmounted by two "cornet" vases; the whole is mounted with a bronze mount comprising bases and rims connected by two large handles decorated with rocaille acanthus scrolls.

Very fine quality of chiseling and mercury gilding.

The porcelain is in very good condition, with a small chip on the base of one Meiping vase.

The four vases are from a mantelpiece, China, Jiangxi province, reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1735-1796) circa 1760-1770.

The bronze mount, Paris, circa 1760-1770, comparable to the works of bronze artist Jean Claude Duplessis (1699-1774).
