19th century and Art Nouveau furniture and objets d'art
Large group in white Carrara marble depicting a lion fighting a snake. This is a famous subject by the sculptor Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875), whose original 1832 plaster model is in the Musée du Louvre. The bronze model is on display in the Tuileries.
A very fine quality sculpture in perfect condition. 19th century.
