This painting offers an unconventional view of Venice and its Grand Canal, created by the talented German painter Alfred August Felix Bachmann. In the distance, Santa Maria della Salute can be seen.

This late 19th or early 20th-century work is signed in the lower right corner and presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame.

The painting is in very good condition.

Biography:

Alfred August Felix Bachmann (1863-1956) is a painter of the German School of the 19th and 20th centuries. He is known for his animated landscapes, marine scenes, and orientalist works.

Born on October 1, 1863, in Dirschau (near Danzig), he passed away in 1956 in Ambach-sur-Obb. Bachmann was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Königsberg in East Prussia. He settled in Munich in 1891 and began traveling, dedicating himself to the landscapes of Iceland, Normandy, the coasts of Portugal, the sites of Tenerife, views of Venice, Istanbul, and the Bosphorus.

His work "La Seine" is exhibited at the Musée de Meudon.
