Alexandre Maigret (1780-1825) was one of the most important suppliers to the Imperial Furniture Guard from 1805 until his retirement in 1826. He began his dual activity as upholsterer and cabinetmaker in 1775 at number 20 rue Vivienne in Paris. He supplied furniture for the châteaux of Versailles, Saint-Cloud, Fontainebleau (Madame Mère's apartment) and the Tuileries, as well as the palace of Laeken near Brussels. His activity gradually declined under the Restoration, and he sold part of his stock and the Savonnerie carpets to the royal furniture guard in 1826 before retiring.
