A high carat gold pendant set with an agate intaglio of cupid.
Italian, 17th century.
The pendant measures 7.6cm long including drop.
The intaglio measures 3.8 x 3.1cm.
Two similar examples can be found in the British Museum bequeathed by Sir Hans Sloane in 1753, their registration numbers are: SLBCameos.4 & SLBCameos.138.
